Privacy Policy

CompetiView is operated by Vurtas RF Solutions, a California sole proprietorship ("CompetiView," "we," "us," or "our"). This policy explains how we handle information when you visit or use CompetiView.

Information we collect

Account and subscription information

We store your email address, securely hashed password, optional display name, email-verification status, account creation and recent-login timestamps, selected plan, preferences, and policy-acceptance record. If you subscribe, we store Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, subscription status, and billing-period information. We do not store full payment-card numbers.

Listing and service data

We store listing URLs and identifiers you submit, tracking preferences, price ranges, alert settings, alert history, and related usage records. We may also store public eBay listing metadata needed to provide the service, including titles, prices, image URLs, seller names, condition, shipping and delivery information, search position, price history, and timestamps.

Technical information

Our hosting systems may process IP addresses, request details, browser information, timestamps, and security logs. IP addresses are also used temporarily for abuse prevention and rate limiting. We use essential session and security cookies or similar technologies to keep you signed in, protect forms, and maintain service state.

Optional analytics

With your consent, Google Analytics operates only on our public Landing and Pricing pages. It may use cookies or a pseudonymous client identifier and collect page interactions, approximate location, and browser or device information. Analytics is disabled on registration, account, password-reset, email-verification, dashboard, and other authenticated pages. You can accept, decline, or revisit your choice through the Cookie choices link in the public-page footer. We do not send account emails, listing content, or payment information to Google Analytics.

How we use information

We use information to:

• create and secure accounts;
• provide listing tracking, comparisons, dashboards, and alerts;
• process subscriptions and provide billing support;
• operate, troubleshoot, protect, and improve CompetiView;
• understand public-page usage when analytics consent is granted; and
• comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

Service providers and disclosures

We use service providers only as needed to operate CompetiView, including eBay for public listing data, Stripe for subscription payments, Google Analytics for consent-based public-page analytics, email/SMTP providers for account and alert messages, infrastructure providers for hosting, and Backblaze B2 for encrypted disaster-recovery backups. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy practices. We may also disclose information when legally required, to protect rights or safety, or in connection with a business transfer.

We do not sell personal information.

Retention and account deletion

We generally retain account and service data while your account remains active and as reasonably needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, or satisfy legal obligations. Security and server logs are retained for a limited operational period. Rate-limit records expire automatically.

You can delete your account from Settings. This removes the account and associated tracking data from the live application database. Residual copies may remain in encrypted disaster-recovery backups until they rotate out under our retention schedule, currently up to approximately six months. Backups are isolated and used only for disaster recovery; deleted data is not intentionally restored except as part of recovering the service, after which deletion requests will be honored again.

Security

We use safeguards including password hashing, HTTPS, secure cookies, CSRF protection, email verification, rate limiting, access controls, and encrypted offsite backups. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and requests

You may update certain account information, manage alerts and billing, change optional analytics choices, or delete your account through the service. You may also contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information. We may need to verify your identity. Applicable law may provide additional rights.

Children

CompetiView is a business service intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date and provide additional notice when appropriate.
